The Saliu Family has hosted its annual Ramadan lecture in honor of Alhaja Ramota Bankole.
Epe Insights reports that the Saliu family, led by Hon. Saliu Adeniyi, former Eredo LCDA Chairman, hosted its annual Ramadan Lecture in honor of the late Alhaja Ramota Bankole, a woman leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who passed away in 2024 in the holy land of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
Present at the Ramadan lecture were religious scholars, political figures, and community members who had a moment of spiritual reflection, prayers, and remembrance.
Alhaji Sheikh I.O. Soliu, the guest lecturer at the lecture, delivered a sermon centered on the inevitability of death and the importance of leading a righteous life.
The guest lecturer emphasized that every individual must one day return to their Creator, urging attendees to embrace good deeds and moral values.
“Death is an unavoidable journey that awaits us all. What matters most is the legacy we leave behind. We should strive to live in a way that benefits humanity and brings us closer to Allah,” Sheikh Soliu said.
Hon. Saliu Adeniyi reiterated the cleric’s message in an interview, urging Muslims to uphold the virtues they embraced during Ramadan.
“Ramadan teaches us discipline, patience, and devotion to Allah. It is important that we do not return to sinful ways after the fasting period. Let us continue in righteousness, kindness, and service to humanity,” he advised.
Adeniyi further described Alhaja Ramota Bankole as a dedicated leader whose contributions to the community and APC would never be forgotten.
“She was a strong pillar in our political and religious community. Her kindness, commitment, and leadership inspired many. We pray that Allah grants her eternal rest and rewards her good deeds,” Hon. Saliu opined.
Meanwhile, Epe Insights reports that the Ramadan lecture also featured a special prayer session for the late Alhaja Ramota Bankole, as well as prayers for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Eredo LCDA and Epe Youth Division.
Religious leaders at the gathering encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in their faith and make the most of their time on earth.
Community members appreciated the Saliu family’s dedication to sustaining the annual Ramadan event, recognizing it as a source of inspiration and spiritual renewal following the end lecture.
