The administration of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has provided financial assistance to 250 widows and elderly residents under the September edition of the Akinloye Cares Monthly Cash Support Programme.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative is part of the council chairman’s welfare programme aimed at supporting vulnerable residents, easing financial challenges and improving their wellbeing through regular cash assistance.
The exercise brought support to 250 beneficiaries, comprising widows and elderly residents within Eredo LCDA. The programme reflects the administration’s stated commitment to social welfare and community support.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Akinloye, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adesanya, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to sustaining welfare initiatives for residents who require financial assistance.

He noted that programmes such as Akinloye Cares Monthly Cash Support are intended to help beneficiaries cope with financial pressures and meet some of their basic needs.
The initiative also highlights the role of local government administrations in addressing the welfare concerns of vulnerable groups within their communities.
For widows and elderly residents, financial assistance can provide some relief from daily expenses and help them manage essential household needs. Continued support programmes can also create opportunities for local authorities to maintain contact with beneficiaries and better understand their welfare concerns.
The September edition further underscores the administration’s focus on maintaining the monthly support scheme as part of its social welfare activities in Eredo LCDA.
During the event, Adesanya also encouraged eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing the importance of voter registration and participation in the electoral process.
He urged residents to remain involved in civic activities and expressed support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the party as a platform for continued progress and development.

The appeal placed civic participation alongside the welfare programme, although obtaining a PVC remains important for eligible citizens who wish to exercise their voting rights.
The Akinloye Cares Monthly Cash Support Programme is one of the administration’s initiatives directed at providing assistance to selected vulnerable residents. Its September edition reached 250 widows and elderly people, according to the information provided by the council.
As local communities continue to face varying financial challenges, targeted welfare initiatives remain an important part of discussions around social support and grassroots governance.
The programme also draws attention to the needs of older residents and widows, who may require additional support in meeting everyday expenses.
The administration has reiterated its intention to sustain welfare activities designed to support vulnerable members of the community. Continued implementation will be important in determining how consistently beneficiaries receive assistance and how effectively the programme responds to their needs.
