The Aladeshoyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, has intensified efforts to strengthen security across Eredo LCDA through strategic engagements with security agencies, community leaders, and members of the Arewa community.
Epe Insights reports that the monarch convened a series of security meetings aimed at addressing growing concerns over safety and preventing criminal activities within Eredo and neighboring communities.
Speaking during the engagement, Oba Ogunlaja emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority for every responsible leader and stakeholder.
The royal father noted that maintaining peace and stability requires the collective efforts of residents, traditional institutions, and security agencies.
He called on members of the Arewa community to support ongoing security initiatives and ensure that all residents comply with the laws and regulations guiding peaceful coexistence within the kingdom.
According to the monarch, there is no place for criminality in Eredo, stressing that all groups must work together to prevent any threat to public safety.
Oba Ogunlaja urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to relevant authorities without delay.
He, however, advised community members to verify information before sharing it, warning that misinformation could create unnecessary panic and tension.
The monarch reiterated the importance of the popular security slogan, “If you see something, say something,” while emphasizing the need for accurate and credible information.

He explained that effective intelligence gathering remains one of the most important tools in combating insecurity at the grassroots level.
The Adegbajo of Odo-Gbawojo Kingdom, Oba Morufudeen Adelani Adeniyi, also stressed the need for collective responsibility in safeguarding communities.
He noted that security challenges affect everyone regardless of ethnic or religious background and called for greater unity among residents.
According to him, peaceful coexistence and cooperation remain essential to maintaining order and stability across Eredo.
A military officer present at the meeting also advised residents to avoid spreading unverified reports capable of causing fear and confusion.
The officer emphasized that information shared with security agencies should be factual and free from exaggeration.

In a major highlight of the event, Oba Ogunlaja donated a brand-new patrol motorcycle to members of the Arewa security vigilante group.
The donation is expected to enhance community surveillance and improve rapid response to security-related incidents within the area.
The monarch urged the vigilante group to remain committed to their responsibilities and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
As part of measures to strengthen public safety, Oba Ogunlaja also reiterated restrictions on the operation of motorcycles and tricycles beyond 10:00 p.m. within Eredo communities.

The security engagement followed an earlier stakeholders’ meeting hosted by the monarch at his palace in Odo-Noforija.
The gathering brought together traditional rulers, community stakeholders, security operatives, and leaders of the Arewa community from different towns within Eredo LCDA.
Among those in attendance were the Odo Egiri of Odo-Egiri Kingdom, Oba Oluwo Abiola, traditional chiefs, and representatives of security agencies.
Participants discussed practical ways to strengthen community policing and improve intelligence sharing between residents and law enforcement agencies.
The Divisional Police Officer of Odo-Noforija Police Station assured residents of the police command’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
He encouraged community members to continue supporting security agencies through cooperation and timely information sharing.
Oba Ogunlaja concluded the meeting by calling on residents to embrace peace, unity, and mutual respect irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
He noted that sustainable development can only thrive in an environment where peace and security are guaranteed.
Stakeholders at the meeting unanimously resolved to strengthen collaboration and support measures aimed at preserving peace throughout Eredo LCDA.
