The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, showcased the achievements of his administration as he received members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during an official oversight visit to the council.
Epe Insights reports that the oversight visit provided Hon. Olowa with an opportunity to present his administration’s developmental strides, demonstrate effective governance, and strengthen collaboration between the local government and the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The delegation was welcomed by Hon. Olowa and members of the council’s management team before the commencement of activities designed to highlight the progress recorded under his leadership.
As part of the visit, the Executive Chairman led the lawmakers to the Legislative Chamber, where they observed the council’s legislative sitting in session.
The exercise showcased the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the local government, reflecting Olowa’s commitment to transparency, institutional cooperation, and democratic governance.
The Assembly committee commended the peaceful collaboration between both arms of government, describing it as a positive example of effective local administration.
Hon. Olowa later escorted the lawmakers to Citrus Garden Estate, a landmark housing initiative facilitated by his administration to support sustainable urban development within Ibeju-Lekki.
During the inspection, the chairman explained the vision behind the housing project, noting that it reflects his administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality housing while encouraging economic growth and investment in the local government.
The lawmakers toured key sections of the estate and expressed satisfaction with the pace of development and the quality of infrastructure provided within the project.

The visit proceeded to the council’s Conference Hall, where Hon. Olowa delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the performance of his administration since assuming office.
Presenting his scorecard, the chairman outlined the implementation of his SHIEELD Agenda, which continues to serve as the strategic framework guiding governance and development across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
Olowa explained that the agenda focuses on delivering practical solutions that improve the lives of residents while ensuring sustainable growth across every sector of the local government.
He highlighted achievements recorded in Security, Health, Infrastructure, Environment, Education, Local Economy, and Digital Governance, noting that each sector has witnessed measurable progress under his administration.
According to the chairman, investments in security have strengthened community safety, while healthcare initiatives have expanded access to quality medical services for residents.

He also pointed to improvements in road infrastructure, environmental sanitation, educational support programmes, digital transformation, and initiatives designed to stimulate local economic development.
Hon. Olowa reaffirmed that every project executed under the SHIEELD Agenda has been driven by the desire to improve service delivery and create lasting benefits for the people of Ibeju-Lekki.
The chairman used the occasion to express profound appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for creating an enabling environment that allows local governments to implement impactful development projects.
He said the support and policies of the Lagos State Government have strengthened grassroots governance and empowered local councils to respond more effectively to the needs of residents.
Olowa further assured the lawmakers that his administration would continue to prioritise accountability, prudent management of public resources, and people-centred governance.
He reiterated his commitment to sustaining the momentum of development by introducing more initiatives that improve infrastructure, social services, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities.
