In a colorful display of tradition and appreciation, youths from Ayandelu Kingdom in Epe Local Government Area honoured the Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, with a specially customized Agemo masquerade during the final day of the annual Eebi Agemo Festival.
EpeInsights reports that the unique tribute was in recognition of Anomo’s visible contributions to grassroots development, his commitment to community welfare, and his continued support for cultural preservation in both Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and Odo Ayandelu.
“This is our way of thanking him for his impact on our town,” said a youth leader during the event. “The customized Agemo represents our respect and appreciation.”
The Agemo masquerade, deeply rooted in Yoruba spirituality, was adorned with vibrant colors and traditional symbolism, dancing before a large crowd gathered to celebrate the festival’s conclusion.
In his remarks, Chairman Anomo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the youths and community leaders for the honor.
“I am truly touched by this gesture,” he said. “This goes beyond politics—this is cultural affirmation. I remain committed to promoting development and preserving the traditions that make us who we are.”
The Eebi Agemo Festival is a major cultural celebration in the region, marking spiritual renewal, ancestral reverence, and communal unity.
This year’s edition saw widespread participation from royal fathers, cultural stakeholders, and residents from across Epe.
The event highlighted not only Ayandelu’s strong cultural identity but also the growing importance of leadership that aligns with local values and traditions.
