Lekki LCDA Wins Praise During Oversight Visit

Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has highlighted its major development achievements as it welcomed members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during an official oversight visit.

Epe Insights reports that the oversight delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, who visited the council to assess ongoing projects, governance efforts, and developmental initiatives executed by the local administration.

The visit created an avenue for the leadership of Lekki LCDA to present its achievements recorded since 2024 across several sectors. These included infrastructure, healthcare, education, sports, environmental management, security, agriculture, and community-focused development programmes.

Council officials explained that the projects were designed to improve residents’ quality of life while supporting sustainable growth within the rapidly developing local council area.

During the presentation, the administration outlined investments in road infrastructure, public facilities, educational support, healthcare delivery, and environmental sustainability. The council also highlighted initiatives aimed at strengthening local security and expanding agricultural opportunities for residents.

The visiting lawmakers reviewed several of the completed and ongoing projects as part of their constitutional oversight responsibility. The exercise formed part of the Lagos State House of Assembly’s efforts to monitor the performance of local governments and Local Council Development Areas across the state.

Members of the committee commended the council for its commitment to delivering impactful projects that directly benefit the people. They noted that the administration had demonstrated dedication to improving public infrastructure and expanding access to essential services.

One of the major highlights of the visit was the committee’s assessment of the ongoing Type C Primary Healthcare Centre being developed by Lekki LCDA. The lawmakers described the project as one of the most ambitious healthcare investments undertaken by any local government administration in Lagos State.

The committee disclosed that among more than 50 Local Governments and LCDAs visited during their oversight exercise, the Type C Primary Healthcare Centre in Lekki LCDA stood out for its scale and level of ambition.

The recognition was described as an encouraging endorsement of the council’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services and improving access to quality medical care for residents.

The council expressed appreciation for the positive assessment by the lawmakers, describing the commendation as a motivation to sustain ongoing developmental efforts across the LCDA.
