Olowa Advances Infrastructure, Education, Security Initiatives in Ibeju-Lekki

 The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has recorded a week of strategic interventions aimed at strengthening infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and youth empowerment under the SHIEELD Agenda.

Epe Insights reports that the week-long engagements highlighted ongoing development projects and institutional reforms designed to improve service delivery and enhance living standards across communities within the local government area.

On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Chairman inspected the Shapati Multi-Cell Reinforced Concrete Culvert Project, which has reached its final stage. The project is expected to improve drainage capacity, enhance road durability, and strengthen connectivity within the Shapati community upon completion.

Later on the same day, Hon. Olowa received members of Public Servants for KOH on a courtesy visit to his office. The delegation comprised civil servants from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies across Lagos State, reinforcing intergovernmental collaboration.

The Chairman also addressed concerns regarding the Ologunfe Container Road, assuring residents that immediate remedial interventions would be implemented. He noted that the government is committed to preventing further deterioration of the affected road segment.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the administration expanded its education support framework with the inauguration of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Scholarship Board. The initiative is designed to institutionalize academic assistance for indigent students and widen access to higher learning opportunities.

The Chairman also carried out an inspection of the Ologunfe Container Road alongside the Council Engineer and representatives of O2 Investment Limited. Following the assessment, he directed the Works Department to commence urgent stabilization measures to protect the road from further collapse.

In another development on Tuesday, the Local Government Health Authority Board was inaugurated, with Dr. Issa Tosin appointed as Chairman. The board is expected to strengthen healthcare coordination, improve governance, and enhance service delivery across health facilities in the area.

Wednesday, June 10, 2026, featured a security-focused intervention as Hon. Olowa donated a Toyota Tacoma operational vehicle to the Eleko Division of the Nigeria Police Force. The donation is aimed at boosting mobility, improving response time, and strengthening crime prevention operations.

The Chairman also hosted the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. K. A. Adewale, and his team on a familiarization visit. Discussions centered on deepening collaboration to improve road safety awareness and reduce traffic-related incidents in the local government.

In line with environmental sustainability efforts, Hon. Olowa launched a newly procured waste compactor to enhance sanitation services. The equipment is expected to improve waste collection efficiency and promote cleaner communities across Ibeju-Lekki.

 The Chairman received representatives of the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) alongside officials of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. The engagement focused on expanding youth development opportunities through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and employment pathways.

The discussions emphasized the need for sustainable partnerships that will equip young people in Ibeju-Lekki with relevant skills for emerging job markets and economic growth.
