The Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) has recognised several women for their remarkable contributions to social development, healthcare, education, and community service within Epe Division.
Epe Insights reports that the association also extended financial support to 20 women entrepreneurs, with each beneficiary receiving ₦100,000 to strengthen and expand their small-scale businesses.
The event took place at the Eredo Local Council Development Area Hall, Epe, and drew participation from traditional rulers, government officials, professionals, and community leaders across the division.
It served as a platform to honour women who have demonstrated leadership, resilience, and consistent impact in their respective fields of endeavour.
Speaking at the ceremony, EPWA President, Mrs. Folakemi Oluyemi, described the gathering as a celebration of excellence and commitment to community progress.
She stated that the awards reflect the association’s dedication to recognising individuals who continue to contribute meaningfully to societal growth.
Mrs. Oluyemi also recalled that EPWA was established in 2015 by a group of visionary women focused on improving the lives of women, girls, and vulnerable persons.
She noted that since its inception, the association has remained active in delivering empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting communities across Epe Division.
According to her, EPWA’s interventions have consistently focused on education support, mentorship opportunities, healthcare assistance, and economic empowerment initiatives.
She added that the organisation will continue to deepen its outreach programmes to ensure wider impact across all segments of society.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of cash grants to 20 selected beneficiaries engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures.
Each recipient received ₦100,000 to support business expansion and improve financial stability.
EPWA explained that the selection was based on commitment to business growth and the potential to create wider economic impact within local communities.
Community stakeholders present at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a practical step toward reducing economic hardship and promoting self-reliance.
Traditional rulers and guests also applauded the association for its sustained efforts in advancing women empowerment and community development.
Epe Insights notes that the programme reflects the growing importance of women-led organisations in fostering grassroots economic transformation.
The association reiterated its commitment to expanding empowerment initiatives that target women, youths, students, widows, and vulnerable groups across the division.
It further pledged continued investment in programmes that support entrepreneurship, education, mentorship, and healthcare access.
