The Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) has recognised outstanding women for their contributions to humanity, healthcare, empowerment, and community development across the division.
Epe Insights reports that the association also empowered 20 entrepreneurs with ₦100,000 each to support and expand their small businesses as part of its ongoing commitment to economic inclusion and grassroots development.
The empowerment and awards ceremony was held at the Eredo Local Council Development Area Hall in Epe, attracting dignitaries, traditional rulers, government officials, and community stakeholders.
The event celebrated women who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, service delivery, and social impact across various sectors within Epe Division.
Delivering her welcome address, the President of EPWA, Mrs. Folakemi Oluyemi, described the ceremony as a celebration of resilience, excellence, and community service among women in the region.
She noted that the recognition programme reflects the association’s commitment to uplifting individuals who continue to make meaningful contributions to society.
Mrs. Oluyemi also highlighted the journey of EPWA since its establishment in 2015 by visionary women dedicated to improving the welfare of girls, women, and vulnerable groups.
She emphasized that the association has remained consistent in delivering programmes focused on empowerment, mentorship, education, healthcare, and social support.
According to her, EPWA has continued to expand its outreach through targeted interventions that address the needs of women, youths, students, widows, and underserved populations.
She added that the organisation remains committed to building stronger communities through sustainable empowerment initiatives and strategic partnerships.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of cash grants to 20 beneficiaries, each receiving ₦100,000 to support their entrepreneurial activities.
The beneficiaries were selected from different parts of Epe Division, reflecting the association’s inclusive approach to economic empowerment.
EPWA stated that the financial support is aimed at helping beneficiaries expand their businesses, increase productivity, and improve household income.
Stakeholders at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will strengthen grassroots economic development.
Traditional rulers and community leaders present also praised EPWA for its consistent contributions to social welfare and human capital development in the division.
