LAWMA Assures Lagosians of Clean Environment During Easter Festivities

As Lagosians prepare to celebrate Easter, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment throughout the holiday season.

EpeInsights reports that LAWMA’s Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, made the announcement in a statement from its Ijora-Olopa headquarters.

Gbadegesin noted that comprehensive waste management measures have been activated across the state to handle the anticipated spike in waste generation.

“To ensure Lagosians celebrate Easter in a clean and serene environment, we’ve deployed additional trucks and sanitation personnel across the city,” Gbadegesin said.

“Our PSP operators are fully mobilized, and LAWMA will be providing direct backup support where needed to ensure no waste is left unattended.”

LAWMA is also calling on residents to play their part by properly bagging their waste, engaging only assigned PSP operators, and paying waste bills promptly to support ongoing service delivery.

Gbadegesin emphasized the need for environmental responsibility and warned against illegal dumping and reckless behavior that could compromise the cleanliness of the city.

With sweepers and sanitation teams scheduled to work throughout the Easter holidays, motorists are urged to drive responsibly and respect the safety of waste handlers on duty.

“Keeping Lagos clean is a collective responsibility,” Gbadegesin added. “Let’s work together to ensure the city stays clean and green this Easter.”
