A cutting-edge sports facility, KingMakers Ifako Ijaiye Sports Complex, has been unveiled to inspire and support the youth of Lagos State.
EpeInsights reports that the facility courtesy of KingMakers (BetKing) in collaboration with the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government is to uplift grassroots sports and foster community development.
The newly inaugurated complex, with a seating capacity of 150, marks a major milestone in KingMakers’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, set to benefit over 200,000 residents in Ifako Ijaiye and surrounding areas. The facility is a shining example of KingMakers’ commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces for young talent to flourish through sports.
The complex boasts a range of top-tier amenities, including a standard football pitch equipped with lighting for evening use, a spacious sports arena for local tournaments, and a green relaxation area.
Additional features include modern male and female restrooms, administrative offices, ample parking, and sustainable infrastructure like two large water tanks and a water treatment system.
Speaking at the launch, CEO and Managing Director of KingMakers (BetKing), Gossy Ukanwoke, expressed his excitement, noting that the sports complex is more than just a venue for athletic competition: “Sports is a vehicle for social transformation, unity, and empowerment,” Ukanwoke said.
“At KingMakers, we believe in investing in long-term initiatives that make a lasting impact on the communities we serve, and the Ifako Ijaiye Sports Complex is a testament to that commitment.”
Ukanwoke further emphasized that the company’s CSR strategy focuses on inclusion, opportunity, and access for youth.
“This is just the beginning,” he added. “We will continue to support youth-focused initiatives and provide the resources athletes need to thrive.”
Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, Chairman of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, praised the partnership with KingMakers, calling the complex a “defining moment” for the community. “This is more than just a sports facility,” Hamzat said.
“It is a symbol of our dedication to empowering our youth and strengthening our community through innovative collaboration.”
The Special Adviser on Partnerships and Innovation for Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, Oluwafemi Ojo, reflected on the journey that brought the project to fruition, highlighting the success of public-private partnerships in fostering sustainable development.
“This landmark achievement demonstrates how collaborative efforts can transform communities for generations to come,” Ojo noted.
In addition to the Ifako Ijaiye Sports Complex, KingMakers has been an active player in Nigeria’s sports ecosystem, recently hosting the BetKing Wheelchair Basketball Championship and supporting athletes in the Para-athletics category at the upcoming National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
With the official opening of the KingMakers Ifako-Ijaiye Sports Complex, the future of grassroots sports in Lagos is brighter than ever, offering young talent a place to grow, compete, and thrive.
