The Lagos State Government has officially launched EcoMove Lagos 2025, a week-long campaign aimed at promoting sustainable, efficient, and eco-friendly transportation across the state.
EpeInsights reports that the campaign organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and powered by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transportation, will run from Thursday, April 24 to Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Themed “EcoMove: Connecting Communities, Reducing Emission – The Role of Public Transportation in Achieving Sustainable Goals,” the campaign is a key part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.
EcoMove 2025 is designed to support better traffic management, encourage eco-conscious mobility, and promote seamless multimodal transport systems—covering road, rail, air, and waterways.
The goal is to enhance movement across Lagos, stimulate economic growth, and improve residents’ overall quality of life.
The campaign begins with a statewide clean-up of mechanic villages on Thursday, April 24.
This will be followed by a medical outreach at Berger, Ojuelegba, and Oshodi motor parks on Friday, April 25.
A transport awareness road show is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, while Monday, April 28 will feature an infrastructure tour of key transport projects.
On Tuesday, April 29, there will be a paper presentation and panel discussion with the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as the Special Guest.
The campaign will close on Wednesday, April 30 with a grand finale and awards ceremony, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Officials from the Ministry of Transportation have reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable urban development and public health through improved transportation systems.
They also called on Lagosians to join the movement toward a cleaner, more efficient, and connected Lagos.
