Controversial media personality, Kemi Olunloyo has sparked conversation online after publicly rejecting condolences over the death of her father, former Oyo State Governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, who passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
EpeInsights reports that in a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, Kemi stated she would not be mourning her father, citing years of family estrangement and unresolved trauma.
“I’m uploading video statements on my father’s death on TikTok,” she wrote. “I am NOT part of the Olunloyo family anymore… I told you in 2024 that I would never return to Nigeria, even if my parents died.”
Kemi accused her late father of being emotionally abusive and blamed him for longstanding divisions within the family. In a follow-up video, she said:
“I am not accepting anybody’s condolences because I am not condoling with anybody. If you want to offer condolences, go to his Facebook page.”

She alleged that her father lived a double life — revered publicly but damaging in private. According to her, “He destroyed our family unity emotionally and physically. He tortured us as kids.”
Despite public perception that she was her father’s “favourite daughter,” Kemi claimed she felt used.
“He took advantage of my positive energy and used me for image building,” she added.
One of the most explosive claims in her video was the accusation that her father practiced occultism and was involved in juju rituals — a turning point in their relationship.
“I called him out on his 80th birthday. After that, he went to Pastor E.A. Adeboye and became born-again,” she said.
Kemi also cited her father’s marriage to Ronke Sonaike (later known as Aderonke Olunloyo) as a major source of conflict in the family. She claimed the union deeply affected her mother, sparking tensions that escalated over time.
Among her allegations, Kemi recounted:
- Accusations of attempted poisoning of her mother
- A bizarre incident involving a miniature coffin found under a bed
- Restricted family access to their father after he suffered a stroke in 2021
“After his stroke, nobody could talk to Daddy. Ronke blocked everyone off,” she claimed, citing her older sister’s account.
Kemi’s revelations have drawn widespread attention on social media, with reactions ranging from empathy to criticism. While some commend her honesty and emotional courage, others question the timing and tone of her remarks.
