Eredo Local Council Development Area has arrested 11 motorcycles and one vehicle for one-way driving along the Epe/Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
Epe Insights reports that the enforcement exercise was carried out on Tuesday in collaboration with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Eredo Local Vigilante Group.
The joint operation targeted motorists and commercial motorcycle operators found driving against traffic in clear violation of Lagos State road safety laws.
Officials confirmed that a total of 12 vehicles were apprehended during the exercise.
Authorities described one-way driving as illegal and dangerous, warning that it poses serious threats to lives and property.
The council stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen traffic compliance and reduce avoidable accidents within the axis.
According to enforcement officers, the impounded motorcycles and the vehicle will be transferred to the LASTMA yard.
They will face further necessary action in accordance with traffic regulations guiding road use in Lagos State.
Council representatives reiterated that enforcement exercises will continue across major routes within Eredo LCDA.
They stressed that no destination is worth risking human life.
The leadership of Eredo LCDA urged residents to prioritise safety and obey traffic directives at all times.
Commercial motorcycle operators were specifically cautioned against reckless riding and disregard for traffic signs.
Officials also encouraged motorists to adopt responsible driving habits and support government efforts to maintain order on the roads.
Community stakeholders have commended the proactive approach, noting that strict enforcement is essential to curb recurring traffic violations.
The council emphasised that public cooperation remains critical to achieving safer roads.
