In the build-up to the May 10th All Progressives Congress (APC) local government primaries, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has intensified consultations with key party stakeholders, reaffirming his commitment to seek re-election under the APC banner.
EpeInsights reports that earlier today, Hon. Akinloye paid a courtesy visit to the APC Local Government Area (LGA) Executives at the party secretariat in Eredo, where he formally declared his intention to run and sought their backing.
The meeting comes just 24 hours after the APC concluded the screening and clearance of all chairmanship and councillorship aspirants across Lagos State, including Hon. Akinloye, who was officially cleared to contest.
Addressing the Executives, Hon. Akinloye outlined his achievements over the last three years, which he described as a period of “people-centered governance and transformative development.” His administration, he said, has made significant strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, and grassroots empowerment.
“I am not just seeking re-election for the sake of it,” he told party leaders. “I am running because we have laid a solid foundation, and with your support, I believe we can do even more to uplift our communities.”
The Chairman also pointed to his personal contributions to party development, most notably the complete renovation of the APC Secretariat in Eredo LCDA, a project he funded and supervised to provide a more functional space for party operations.
He extended special appreciation to Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, popularly known as Sketel, who represents Epe Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, for his unwavering political support.
Akinloye also acknowledged the consistent encouragement of the APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Agbaraojo, and the entire executive team.
In his response, Alhaji Agbaraojo praised Hon. Akinloye’s leadership style and commitment to inclusive governance. “Your record speaks for itself,” he said.
“We’ve witnessed real progress under your leadership, and the executives are fully behind your re-election.”
With party primaries just days away, and APC’s internal processes running smoothly following the successful screening exercise, Akinloye’s campaign continues to gather momentum across Eredo LCDA.
His Ileri-Oluwa Independent Campaign Organisation has pledged a grassroots-focused campaign, emphasizing continuity, development and unity within the party.
As the political season heats up, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye remains one of the frontrunners in the race, buoyed by strong local support and a solid track record in office.
