As political activities intensify ahead of the 2025 local government elections in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a Screening Appeal Committee to address grievances and disputes arising from its recently concluded screening exercise.
EpeInsights reports that at the helm of this crucial reconciliation body is a former Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN).
Kazeem, a seasoned legal practitioner and respected political figure, is expected to bring his wealth of experience, fairness, and legal insight to bear in resolving appeals filed by aspirants who may be dissatisfied with the screening outcomes.
The committee, made up of five notable party stakeholders, is tasked with reviewing petitions and screening-related controversies ahead of the APC’s forthcoming local government primaries. Their mandate is to ensure transparency, party unity and internal democracy throughout the process.
Joining Kazeem on the committee are: Hon. Abdul Wahab Olumuyiwa Jimoh – Former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, serving as Secretary of the committee; Hon. Sunmi Odesanya, Esq – Former Secretary of the Lagos APC and a former pioneer Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA alongside other party elders.
The formation of this committee signals the party’s commitment to giving all aspirants a fair hearing while maintaining internal cohesion as it marches toward the 2025 council polls.
With primary elections slated for May 10, all eyes are now on the APC’s internal dispute resolution process, which many believe will play a critical role in shaping the final lineup of candidates across Lagos’ 57 LGAs and LCDAs.
