The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has commissioned the newly completed 900-metre Lakowe–Losoro–Lagasa Road, marking another milestone in his administration’s drive to improve infrastructure and connectivity across the council area.
Epe Insights reports that the road project was executed under the SHIEELD Agenda and is expected to enhance transportation, improve access to communities, and stimulate economic activities within Lakowe, Losoro, Lagasa, and neighbouring areas.
The project was completed in three phases, covering 350 metres in Section One, 80 metres in Section Two, and 470 metres in Section Three, replacing a previously difficult route with a durable road network.
The newly constructed road is expected to ease the movement of residents, traders, motorists, and commuters while improving access to homes, businesses, schools, and other public facilities.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Olowa described the project as another demonstration of his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure that directly improves the lives of residents.
He said every road constructed by the council is aimed at addressing the practical needs of communities while supporting sustainable development across Ibeju-Lekki.
According to the chairman, improved road infrastructure remains essential for economic growth, social development, and better access to opportunities.
He explained that the Lakowe–Losoro–Lagasa Road will reduce travel time, improve connectivity, and facilitate the smooth transportation of goods and services within the local government.
Hon. Olowa noted that the road will also support businesses by making commercial activities more accessible and encouraging investment in surrounding communities.
He added that as Ibeju-Lekki continues to witness rapid industrial and urban development, strategic infrastructure projects will remain a priority of his administration.
The chairman reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-centred projects that promote inclusive growth and improve the quality of life for residents.
He stressed that infrastructure development under the SHIEELD Agenda is focused on creating lasting value through projects that address the everyday needs of the people.
Hon. Olowa also acknowledged the support of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that improved financial allocations to local governments have strengthened their ability to execute impactful development projects.
He stated that the enhanced fiscal capacity has enabled grassroots administrations to respond more effectively to the infrastructure and welfare needs of their communities.
The chairman commended residents for their patience and support throughout the execution of the project, assuring them that more developmental initiatives would be delivered across the local government.
Community members welcomed the completion of the road, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will improve mobility and boost economic activities in the area.
