The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has reaffirmed the importance of grassroots mobilisation as he received a delegation from the Tinubu-Hamzat Epe Division Solidarity Front (THEDSF) during a strategic consultation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Epe Insights reports that the THEDSF delegation, led by its Director-General, Comrade Giwa Moshood Olasupo (G.M.O.), met with Hon. Anomo to discuss grassroots mobilisation, youth participation, voter education, political inclusion, and sustainable development initiatives for Epe Division.
The meeting formed part of the group’s ongoing consultations with key stakeholders aimed at strengthening community engagement and building an inclusive political structure across the division.
Receiving the delegation, Hon. Anomo commended THEDSF for adopting a consultative approach by engaging leaders and stakeholders across Epe Division.
He described the initiative as a demonstration of political maturity and strategic planning capable of promoting unity and wider participation at the grassroots.
According to the chairman, successful political movements are built on continuous engagement with the people rather than activities limited to election periods.
He encouraged the group to develop enduring structures that would strengthen community participation, encourage civic responsibility, and foster lasting relationships with residents.
Hon. Anomo stressed that grassroots mobilisation should focus on listening to the people, identifying community needs, and promoting solutions that improve the quality of life.
He urged the movement to prioritise youth engagement by creating platforms that encourage young people to participate actively in leadership, governance, and democratic processes.
The chairman noted that empowering young people with leadership opportunities would strengthen democratic institutions and prepare a new generation of responsible leaders.
He also called for the development of a practical economic blueprint that addresses the unique opportunities and challenges within Epe Division.
According to Hon. Anomo, strategic investments in education, skills acquisition, agriculture, entrepreneurship, tourism, and infrastructure would unlock greater economic opportunities for residents.
He emphasised that sustainable development requires deliberate planning, strong institutions, and policies that improve livelihoods across all communities.
The chairman further advised the movement to remain committed to peaceful political engagement and issue-based mobilisation capable of promoting unity rather than division.
He stated that constructive political participation should always encourage dialogue, respect for democratic values, and collaboration among stakeholders.
Hon. Anomo also applauded THEDSF for reaching beyond traditional political supporters, describing the inclusive approach as vital to expanding participation and strengthening public confidence.
He encouraged members to continue engaging women, youths, professionals, artisans, traditional institutions, and community groups in their mobilisation efforts.
