The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, Hon. Abiola Olowu Okanlawon, alongside traditional rulers, community leaders, government officials, political stakeholders, and residents.
Epe Insights reports that Speaking during the event, Hon. Olowa said the road project reflects his administration’s determination to respond to the practical needs of communities through impactful infrastructure.
He noted that the newly completed road will improve the movement of people, goods, and services while creating easier access to commercial activities and emerging economic opportunities across Ibeju-Lekki.
The chairman stated that quality road infrastructure remains a critical driver of sustainable development, improved connectivity, and grassroots economic growth.
Hon. Olowa also commended O2’s Development Services Nigeria Limited, the contractor that executed the project, for delivering quality work within the project scope.
He equally praised the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Works and Infrastructure Department for effectively supervising the construction from commencement to completion.
The chairman expressed profound appreciation to residents of Lakowe, Losoro, Lagasa, and neighbouring communities for their patience, cooperation, and support throughout the execution of the project.

He paid special tribute to the Ojomu of Lakowe, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulhakeem Olusegun Adisa, whose leadership, wisdom, and support contributed significantly to the successful completion of the road.
According to Hon. Olowa, the traditional institution played an important role in fostering peace, cooperation, and community participation throughout the construction process.
He acknowledged the continued partnership between the local government and traditional rulers, describing their support as invaluable to the successful implementation of grassroots development projects.
The chairman commended the royal father for providing the leadership that helped transform a longstanding community need into a completed public infrastructure project.

Among those present were Hon. Abiola Olowu Okanlawon, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Oluwafemi Olayinka, members of the Legislative Council, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, all supervisors, the Council Manager, Dr. Adesanya Augustine Adekoya, and members of the council’s management team.
The newly completed Lakowe–Losoro–Lagasa Road represents another milestone under the SHIEELD Agenda, improving connectivity, supporting economic activities, and strengthening infrastructure development across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
