Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development with an inspection of ongoing and proposed projects across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the SHIEELD Agenda.

Epe Insights reports that the inspection focused on strategic projects aimed at improving road connectivity, easing transportation and supporting economic growth in communities across the council area.

Among the projects visited was the ongoing Shapati Box Culvert, a critical drainage and road infrastructure designed to improve access and address flooding challenges in the area. The project is expected to enhance movement for residents and businesses.

The council chairman also inspected the final phase of the Adeba–Lakowe Link Road. The road project is nearing completion and is expected to strengthen connectivity between communities while reducing travel time for motorists and commuters.

The inspection also covered the proposed road project at Jamiu Eletu Street in Awoyaya. The planned development is intended to improve accessibility within the fast-growing community and support residential and commercial activities.

Another stop during the tour was the Gbetu Community, where plans are underway for a new road construction project. The proposed road is expected to open up the area for improved mobility, investment opportunities and socio-economic development.

Speaking on the importance of the projects, the administration reiterated that infrastructure remains the backbone of development. Improved roads and drainage systems are expected to enhance transportation, boost local commerce and strengthen community resilience.

The inspection underscores the local government’s determination to ensure that ongoing projects are delivered according to plan while new initiatives are implemented to meet the needs of the area’s rapidly growing population.

With Ibeju-Lekki emerging as one of Lagos State’s fastest-developing economic corridors, investments in road infrastructure are becoming increasingly important. Improved connectivity is expected to support industrial expansion, encourage private investment and improve access to essential services.

Residents are expected to benefit from reduced travel time, safer road networks and increased economic activities as the projects progress. The developments also align with broader efforts to position Ibeju-Lekki as a modern, accessible and investment-friendly destination.

The continued monitoring of infrastructure projects reflects the council’s commitment to accountability and timely project delivery. Stakeholders believe sustained investment in public infrastructure will create lasting opportunities for communities and contribute to the long-term prosperity of Ibeju-Lekki.
