No fewer than 12 incumbent members of the House of Representatives from Lagos State have secured return tickets of the All Progressives Congress following the party’s primary elections held across various federal constituencies on Saturday, May 16.
Epe Insights gathered that the lawmakers, who are part of the state’s 24-member delegation in the House of Representatives, have now positioned themselves for another electoral battle ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Among the prominent lawmakers who retained their tickets is James Abiodun Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency.

Faleke, one of the most influential lawmakers from Lagos, has been in the House since 2011 and is now seeking a fifth consecutive term. The seasoned legislator currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, one of the most strategic committees in the National Assembly.
The lawmaker is also a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), regarded as the highest political decision-making body within the Lagos APC structure.
Also securing the APC ticket is Wale Raji of Epe Federal Constituency.

Raji, who was first elected into the House in 2015, will be seeking a fourth term in office. In 2023, he became the first lawmaker from the constituency to secure a third consecutive mandate.
He currently chairs the House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was recently ranked among the best-performing lawmakers from Lagos State by a media organisation.
Similarly, Enitan Dolapo Badru emerged victorious in the APC primaries for Lagos Island I Federal Constituency.

Badru, who is currently serving his third term, is now set to seek a fourth term in the National Assembly. Before becoming a federal lawmaker, he served as Commissioner for Youth and Social Development under the administration of former Lagos governor Babatunde Fashola.
He also worked as Special Adviser to Bola Ahmed Tinubu before joining the National Assembly. He currently serves as leader of the Lagos caucus in the House of Representatives.
In Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Jimi Benson also clinched the APC ticket after defeating his challenger in a direct primary election conducted across the constituency’s 19 political wards.
Benson, a three-term lawmaker, currently chairs the House Committee on Defence and is widely regarded as one of the most active lawmakers representing Lagos State at the National Assembly.
Other lawmakers who also secured APC return tickets include:
- Alli Adeyemi
- Fayinka Moses
- Laguda Fuad
- Okunola Lanre
- Olabinjo Benjamin
- Kalejaiye Paul
- Kayode Akiolu
- Bayo Balogun
Political observers believe the outcome of the APC primaries may significantly shape the political dynamics in Lagos ahead of the 2027 elections, especially as the ruling party prepares to maintain its dominance in the state.
