The Federation of Epe Division Students Association (FEDSA) National has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and educational advancement as the Lagos State Inter-Public Schools Championship, Season 6.0, moves into its second stage.

Epe Insights reports that schools from the Epe Division secured qualification for the next stage after participating in the first-stage Local Government Area and Local Council Development Area (LGA/LCDA) debate competitions.

The championship is designed to provide public school students with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, communication skills and intellectual abilities in a competitive but educational environment.

FEDSA National said the initiative remains focused on creating platforms where students can develop important skills beyond the traditional classroom setting.

The association noted that debate competitions can help students build confidence and improve their ability to express ideas clearly.

According to FEDSA National, the championship also encourages participants to develop leadership qualities and learn how to work effectively with others.

The second stage of the competition is expected to bring together successful schools from the various preliminary competitions across Lagos State.

The qualifying schools from Epe Division will represent their respective areas as the championship enters this new phase.

FEDSA National described the participation of schools from the division as a positive indication of the growing interest in academic and intellectual activities among students.

The association congratulated the schools that emerged from the first stage and encouraged the students to remain focused as they prepare for the next round.

It also urged participating students to approach the second stage with discipline, confidence and a willingness to learn.

The championship provides students with an avenue to engage with contemporary issues while developing their ability to research, analyse information and present logical arguments.

FEDSA National said these skills are important for students as they prepare for higher education, leadership responsibilities and future professional opportunities.

The association stressed that youth development should include both academic growth and the development of practical skills needed to navigate society.

Through the Inter-Public Schools Championship, FEDSA National said it is contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening students’ intellectual capacity and preparing them for future responsibilities.

The organisation also highlighted teamwork as an important component of the competition.

Students participating in the championship are expected to work together, share ideas and support one another throughout the various stages.

FEDSA National believes such experiences can help young people develop respect for different opinions and improve their ability to collaborate.

The association further noted that competitions of this nature can encourage healthy academic engagement among public school students.

It said the initiative provides an opportunity for students to discover their strengths while gaining experience in public speaking and intellectual discussions.

The progression of the championship to its second stage has therefore generated renewed expectations among participating schools and students.

The initiative further reflects the importance of collaboration between student associations, schools and other education stakeholders in promoting youth development.

FEDSA National reiterated that its interest goes beyond organising competitions, stressing the broader objective of empowering young people through education and leadership development.

The association said it would continue to support programmes that provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn, compete and develop their talents.

As Season 6.0 progresses, participating schools are expected to bring their knowledge, confidence and teamwork to the second stage of the championship.

The Epe Division qualifiers will now have the opportunity to showcase the abilities developed during the first-stage competitions.

FEDSA National expressed optimism that the championship would continue to produce positive outcomes for participating students and schools.

The association also encouraged students to see the competition as an opportunity to gain knowledge, build confidence and establish valuable relationships with their peers.
