The Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has held its first-ever onboarding retreat for members of the 6th Executive Cabinet as part of efforts to strengthen administration and improve service delivery.
Epe Insights reports that the three-day retreat was hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Anomo, to align members of the new cabinet with the principles, procedures and development priorities of the administration.
The chairman described the retreat as more than an orientation programme, saying it was designed to provide executives with a clear understanding of their responsibilities in public office.
Participants received detailed sessions on procurement, budgeting and due process as part of the programme.
The retreat also featured discussions on the Lagos State Local Government Administrative Guidelines and their relevance to effective administration at the grassroots.
According to the council chairman, the sessions were intended to strengthen the capacity of cabinet members and improve their understanding of government procedures.
A major highlight of the retreat was the unveiling of the administration’s T.H.R.I.V.E.S. Administrative Blueprint.

The blueprint was presented as a framework outlining the administration’s vision, immediate priorities and development direction for Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
Anomo said the blueprint would serve as a guide for the administration as it works toward sustainable development across the council area.
He explained that members of the Executive Cabinet must understand the strategic roles attached to their respective offices.
The chairman also emphasised the importance of achieving meaningful results during their tenure.
He charged the executives to approach their responsibilities with competence, accountability and a strong sense of purpose.
According to him, effective governance requires public officials to understand both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with their positions.
The retreat provided an opportunity for members of the 6th Executive Cabinet to engage with one another and gain a clearer understanding of the administration’s priorities.
It also created a platform for the executives to examine how their individual responsibilities could contribute to the broader objectives of the council.
Anomo stressed the need for institutional excellence as the administration begins its activities.

He said the council would focus on building systems that can support effective service delivery and sustainable development.
The chairman further encouraged cabinet members to remain committed to the principles of transparency and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
He said public office should be approached as an opportunity to serve residents and contribute positively to the growth of the community.
The retreat also addressed the importance of teamwork among political office holders.
Anomo noted that collaboration among members of the cabinet would be essential to achieving the administration’s objectives.
He urged the executives to maintain a shared commitment to the development of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The administration also incorporated health and wellbeing into the three-day programme.
A health talk was organised for participants, providing an opportunity to discuss issues relating to personal wellbeing and healthy living.
Medical check-ups were also conducted for members of the Executive Cabinet as part of the retreat.
The chairman said the wellbeing of members of his team was important to their ability to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
The health activities complemented the administrative sessions and provided participants with an opportunity to pay attention to their personal wellbeing.
The first-ever onboarding retreat represents a new approach to preparing members of the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Executive Cabinet for their responsibilities.
By combining administrative training, strategic planning and health awareness, the council sought to establish a strong foundation for the new cabinet.
The unveiling of the T.H.R.I.V.E.S. Administrative Blueprint also provided members with a clearer understanding of the administration’s immediate and long-term direction.
Anomo said the blueprint would guide the council’s activities as it works toward delivering meaningful programmes for residents.
He urged members of the 6th Executive Cabinet to translate the knowledge gained during the retreat into effective action.
The chairman also called for discipline and dedication in the execution of government responsibilities.

As the new cabinet begins its tenure, the council leadership is positioning institutional capacity and effective service delivery as key priorities.
The retreat therefore marked an important step in preparing the cabinet for the responsibilities ahead.
Anomo expressed confidence that the lessons and discussions from the programme would strengthen the administration’s ability to serve the people.
He reiterated his commitment to building an administration focused on competence, accountability, institutional excellence and sustainable development.
The Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA leadership is expected to continue implementing the priorities contained in the T.H.R.I.V.E.S. Administrative Blueprint as the administration progresses.
The onboarding programme has ultimately set the tone for the 6th Executive Cabinet, with emphasis on teamwork, responsible governance and meaningful service to residents.
