The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Representatives primaries in Lagos State, unveiling the full list of 24 candidates who will represent the party across all federal constituencies in the 2027 general elections.

Epe Insights reports that the primaries, held on Saturday, May 16, produced a mix of returning lawmakers, political heavyweights, and new entrants, reinforcing the party’s dominance in Lagos politics ahead of the next electoral cycle.

One of the biggest outcomes of the exercise is the emergence of Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, who secured the APC ticket for Agege Federal Constituency after being unanimously endorsed by delegates across 13 wards.

Obasa, who has represented Agege Constituency I since 2003 and served as Speaker since 2015, will now be making a transition from the state legislature to the National Assembly after more than two decades in state politics.

Among returning lawmakers, James Abiodun Faleke retained the APC ticket for Ikeja Federal Constituency, as he moves closer to a fifth term in the House of Representatives. Faleke remains one of the most influential figures within the Lagos APC structure and a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

Tension, however, trailed the primaries in Kosofe Federal Constituency, where conflicting claims emerged after returning officers declared Dele Osinowo as winner, while incumbent lawmaker Kafilat Ogbara rejected the outcome, insisting she was the rightful winner. Another aspirant also disputed the result, with stakeholders calling for internal resolution to avoid escalation.
