Infrastructure Boost: LASG, Ibeju-Lekki Launch Abijo Road Project

 A strategic collaboration between the Lagos State Government and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government is set to boost road infrastructure with the rehabilitation of Gbadamosi Alo Street, off MLM Abijo Food Hub.

Epe Insights reports that the stakeholders’ meeting brought together government officials, traditional leaders, contractors, and residents to discuss the scope and implementation of the project.

Representing the Executive Chairman, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Issa Al’maruf Olayinka, thanked Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing infrastructural development in Ibeju-Lekki.

He noted that the project aligns with the council’s development vision of transforming the area into the “New Lagos” through sustained improvements in infrastructure, security, and education.

In his keynote address, Mojeed Fatai Adebola, Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, commended the governor for consistently including the local government in the state’s development blueprint.

He urged residents to cooperate with authorities and contractors to ensure the timely completion of the project.

Providing technical details, Engr. Soyombo from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure explained that the rehabilitation will enhance access to the Agric Food Hub along the corridor.

He disclosed that the road will span 10 meters within a 15-meter right-of-way. The project will include standard drainage systems with culverts to prevent flooding.

Solar-powered street lighting and service chambers will also be installed to improve security and public safety.

Speaking for the contractors, Mr Sola Ige (ARC), Principal Architect of Rhema Project BCEGI, assured stakeholders of professional execution and delivery within the stipulated timeframe.

The Chairman of the Baale-in-Council, Chief Rosululahi Adewale Oluwa, appreciated the state and local governments for their commitment to infrastructural and socio-economic growth.

During the interactive session, residents raised concerns and sought clarifications on implementation. Government representatives provided detailed responses, reaffirming transparency and community engagement throughout the project.
