The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has attended the Combined 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) organised by units of the Nigerian Army at the Cantonment in Epe, Lagos State.

Epe Insights reports that the annual WASA celebration, a longstanding Nigerian Army tradition rooted in the West African Frontier Force, promotes unity, regimental spirit, cultural heritage, and camaraderie among officers, soldiers, their families, and host communities.

The colourful event featured cultural performances, traditional cuisines and attire, comedy sketches, tug-of-war competitions, awards to outstanding personnel, and the ceremonial lighting of a bonfire to mark the close of WASA 2025.

Hon. Olowa joined other dignitaries, including government officials, community leaders, and representatives of various security agencies, in celebrating the achievements and sacrifices of the Nigerian Army.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Conference 57 League of Chairmen commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment to peace, security, and stability in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

He stressed the importance of strong civil-military relations in addressing security challenges and supporting sustainable national development.

According to him, the professionalism and sacrifices of the Nigerian Army continue to inspire confidence and cooperation among civilian authorities and local communities.
