Rep. Wale Raji has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Onise of Ise Land, describing the late monarch as a revered custodian of culture and tradition.
Epe Insights reports that the lawmaker, who represents Epe Federal Constituency, paid tribute to His Royal Majesty, AbdulGaniu Adebowale Adegbesan, who joined his ancestors at the age of 90.
Raji described the late monarch’s reign of over two and a half decades as one marked by wisdom, dignity and unwavering commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
“It is with a saddened heart that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the good people of Ise Land and the entire Epe Division on the passing of Kabiyesi,” he said.
He noted that the monarch’s life reflected love for humanity and steadfast leadership throughout his time on the throne.
The federal lawmaker also commiserated with the Oloja of Epe Land, Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, other traditional rulers in Epe Division and the Adegbesan royal family.
Raji stated that the vacuum created by the monarch’s passing would be difficult to fill.
He prayed for eternal rest for the late royal father and comfort for the people of Ise Land during the period of mourning.
“May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort the people of Ise Land in this moment of grief. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
The passing of the Onise marks the end of an era in Ise Land.
