Supreme Court Judgment: Fubara Committed Impeachable Offence – Wike Supreme Court Judgment: Fubara Committed Impeachable Offence – Wike

Wike has reacted to the Supreme Court judgment on the Rivers State LG election.

Epe Insights reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says Governor Similayi Fubara committed an impeachable offence.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, said it was unheard of that someone would say that three people will constitute the state assembly to make law for the entire state.

The FCT Minister’s comment comes after the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier today, Friday, February 28, 2025, which nullified the recent local government elections in Rivers State.

The apex court also upheld the legitimacy of the 27-member of the Martin Amaewhule-led State Assembly.

In an interview with journalists following the development, the FCT Minister said that the court made it clear that we can’t have a democracy without the legislature, adding that the matter has been laid to rest by the highest court of the land.

His words: “There’s nothing like Amaehule faction. Well the court said that the budget should be presented to the reconstituted State Assembly, which is the authentic State Assembly.

“First of all we give God all the glory and honor that today being 28th February, 2025. I always say that the wheel of justice is sluggish but it will always come when it will come. This matter has been laid to rest by the highest court of the land. The Supreme Court has made it clear that we can’t have a democracy without the legislature.

“It’s unheard of where someone will say that three people will constitute an Assembly to make law for the entire state. It has nothing to do with an individual, whether you like this person’s face or not.

“What’s important is: can three people make law for a state?”
