Engr. Rasaki Kasali Flags Off PBAT FEEDS in Lekki LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has flagged off the Adopt A School for Snacks 4 Thought (PBAT FEEDS) initiative under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (RH-NHGSFP).

Epe Insights reports that the initiative is designed to improve the nutritional wellbeing of public primary school pupils by providing healthy snacks before the commencement of daily academic activities.

The programme seeks to tackle classroom hunger, improve school attendance and enhance pupils’ concentration, participation and overall academic performance.

The official launch in Lekki LCDA forms part of the Federal Government’s broader commitment to strengthening basic education through improved child nutrition and sustainable school feeding interventions.

Speaking during the flag-off, stakeholders described the programme as a strategic investment in the future of Nigerian children, noting that quality education begins with proper nutrition.

They explained that pupils who receive nutritious meals are more likely to remain attentive during lessons, achieve better learning outcomes and develop into productive members of society.

Beyond education, the initiative is also expected to strengthen local agriculture by creating demand for farm produce supplied through the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

The programme further supports economic development by encouraging local food production, creating opportunities for farmers and improving community livelihoods.

Engr. Kasali was commended for mobilising stakeholders and ensuring the successful rollout of the initiative within Lekki LCDA.

His administration reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programmes that promote child welfare, educational development and improved living standards for residents.

Stakeholders also applauded the Federal Government for introducing the initiative under the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a practical response to the challenges affecting school-age children.

They noted that ensuring children begin the school day with nutritious meals would contribute to improved enrolment, reduced absenteeism and stronger classroom performance.

Residents welcomed the programme, expressing optimism that the initiative would positively impact public education while easing the burden on many families.

The successful launch reflects the growing collaboration between the Federal Government, local authorities and community stakeholders to improve educational outcomes through targeted social intervention programmes.

As implementation progresses, the PBAT FEEDS initiative is expected to support healthier pupils, strengthen human capital development and contribute to a more productive future for children in Lekki LCDA and across the country.
