Springfield Private School Week Promotes Holistic Learning

Springfield Private School, located in Ekoro, Abule Egba, Lagos, has commenced its annual Springfield Private School Week, a week-long programme designed to promote holistic education through engaging, creative and value-based activities beyond the classroom.

The celebration, which began on Monday, July 6, 2026, brings together pupils, teachers, parents and members of the school community for educational and recreational activities that support the all-round development of learners.

The opening day featured Pyjamas Day, where pupils attended school in their favourite sleepwear and participated in storytelling sessions, educational games, bonding activities and supervised rest periods.

School officials said the initiative was designed to strengthen communication skills, encourage social interaction, improve emotional well-being and build confidence in a relaxed learning environment.

The successful commencement of the programme reflected the dedication of the Head Teacher, Mr. Adebayo Ayeni, alongside the teaching and non-teaching staff, whose collective efforts ensured the activities aligned with the school’s educational vision.

Speaking on the importance of the School Week, the Director of Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy, Mrs. Idehen Ovabor, said the programme reflects the institution’s commitment to developing learners beyond academic excellence.

According to her, the school is focused on raising confident, disciplined, innovative and morally responsible children equipped with the knowledge and life skills needed to succeed in today’s world.

Mrs. Ovabor explained that Springfield believes education extends beyond classroom instruction by nurturing critical thinking, leadership, integrity, respect and good character in every learner.

Activities continued on the second day with Language and Culture Day, during which pupils celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity by wearing colourful traditional attire representing different ethnic groups.

The cultural event promoted unity, national pride and appreciation of Nigeria’s heritage while giving learners opportunities to understand and celebrate different traditions.

Springfield Private School also highlighted its multilingual curriculum, which exposes pupils to four international languages alongside Yoruba, preparing them for global opportunities while preserving their cultural identity.

Parents and invited guests commended the school for creating an environment that combines academic excellence with creativity, leadership development, cultural awareness and strong moral values.

School management noted that more activities are scheduled throughout the week to encourage teamwork, innovation, confidence and personal growth among learners.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education that prepares pupils to become responsible citizens, future leaders and globally competitive individuals.
