The Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) Weekend Tutorial Programme, a group of scholarship beneficiaries returned to the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat to express heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, whose vision helped open the door to their academic success.

Epe Insights reports that the emotional appreciation visit brought together students currently studying at Pan-Atlantic University, where they thanked Hon. Olowa for creating an educational pathway that has enabled dozens of young people from Ibeju-Lekki to pursue quality university education through scholarship opportunities.

The visit was marked by gratitude, celebration, and reflections on how a single initiative has transformed the lives of many students across the local government.

The beneficiaries, now in their 200 and 300 levels, are studying courses including Mass Communication, Economics, Finance, Film and Multimedia, and Electrical Engineering.

They returned not to seek additional support but to acknowledge the role the council chairman played in helping them secure admission and scholarship opportunities at one of Nigeria’s leading private universities.

The students presented gifts to Hon. Olowa as a symbol of appreciation for his commitment to education and youth development.

Receiving the delegation, the chairman recalled the vision that inspired the establishment of the PAU Weekend Tutorial Programme four years ago.

He explained that the initiative was created to prepare talented students from Ibeju-Lekki for admission and scholarship opportunities at Pan-Atlantic University.

According to Hon. Olowa, the programme was designed to ensure that financial limitations would not prevent brilliant students from accessing quality higher education.

He expressed satisfaction that the initiative has continued to produce positive results and life-changing opportunities for young people.

Reflecting on the programme’s impact, the chairman revealed that only one student from Ibeju-Lekki previously enjoyed a scholarship at Pan-Atlantic University.

Today, he said, that figure has increased to more than 30 beneficiaries, demonstrating the remarkable success of the initiative.

Hon. Olowa described the achievement as evidence that purposeful leadership and investment in education can transform lives and strengthen communities.

He encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence throughout their university education.

The chairman reminded them that they had been given a rare opportunity to study in a highly respected institution and urged them to make the most of it.

He expressed confidence that the beneficiaries would become successful professionals who would contribute meaningfully to the development of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, and Nigeria.

Hon. Olowa added that the greatest reward for the programme would be witnessing the students graduate successfully and excel in their chosen careers.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Joy Samuel, a 300-level Mass Communication student, expressed profound appreciation to the chairman for believing in the dreams of young people.

According to her, the PAU Weekend Tutorial Programme became the foundation upon which many of their academic aspirations were built.

She thanked Hon. Olowa for investing in young people and creating opportunities that continue to shape their futures.

The students noted that the programme gave them the confidence, preparation, and academic support needed to compete successfully for university admission and scholarship opportunities.

They pledged to remain good ambassadors of Ibeju-Lekki by maintaining academic excellence and demonstrating the values they have acquired.

Education stakeholders have praised the initiative as one of the notable youth-focused programmes implemented within the local government.

They observed that providing access to quality education remains one of the most sustainable investments any administration can make.

Community leaders also commended Hon. Olowa for prioritising education as a key driver of long-term development.

They noted that empowering young people through scholarship opportunities creates future leaders capable of contributing positively to society.

The appreciation visit further highlighted the impact of the Education and Youth Development pillar of the administration’s SHIEELD Agenda, which focuses on expanding educational opportunities and building human capital.

As the students departed the council secretariat, they carried with them renewed inspiration to continue striving for excellence in their academic pursuits.

Their visit served as a powerful reminder that visionary leadership, strategic partnerships, and investment in education can change lives.

For Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the success of the PAU Weekend Tutorial Programme represents more than scholarship placements.

It reflects his administration’s enduring commitment to creating opportunities, nurturing young talents, and building a future where every determined student in Ibeju-Lekki has the chance to realise his or her full potential through quality education.
