Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale, the Omola of Odomola Kingdom, has passed away, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

Epe Insights reports that the monarch reportedly died after a sudden change in health condition, following his active participation in royal engagements and community activities earlier in the day.

Palace sources revealed that Oba Adebowale was in good health on the day of his passing and had presided over a meeting of the Odomola Council of Chiefs, where preparations for the upcoming Ileya festival were discussed.

He was said to have remained active until about 9pm before his condition suddenly deteriorated, after which he was rushed to Babcock University Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The news of his passing has thrown the Odomola Kingdom and surrounding communities into deep sorrow, as residents described the monarch as a unifying and peace-loving leader.

Oba Adebowale was recently seen participating in the Kilajolu Ebi Festival in Odomola, an event that showcased cultural heritage and community celebration.

During the festival, he was observed in high spirits, engaging with residents and enjoying performances by popular Fuji musician Sule Malaika.

His reign, which began in May 2023, was marked by efforts to promote peace, unity, and cultural preservation within the kingdom.

The late monarch received his instrument of office from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at a ceremony held at the Local Government Council Chambers in Ita-Marun, Epe.

Since news of his passing broke, residents, chiefs, and well-wishers have begun paying tribute, describing him as a leader whose short reign left a lasting impact.

Many community members highlighted his contributions to local development and his commitment to strengthening traditional values.

Traditional rites are expected to commence in line with custom, while the palace is expected to release official burial arrangements in due course.

At the time of filing this report, the remains of the deceased monarch had yet to be returned to the kingdom.
