The vibrant town of Odomola in Epe Division is set to come alive on Sunday, May 11, 2025, as it hosts the much-anticipated Kilajolu Festival, a colorful celebration of Yoruba culture and community unity.

EpeInsights reports that this year’s festival, supported by Otunba Alebiosu Ademola (Otunba Bobawoga of Odomola Epe), promises to be a spectacular event, uniting sons and daughters of the land from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

The festivities will also feature a live performance by Fuji music icon, Alhaji Taiye Currency, adding a lively musical flair to the cultural gathering.

His Royal Highness, Oba Adeshina Sulaiman Adebowale, warmly invites all members of the Odomola community to take part in the celebration, which he describes as a time of joy, thanksgiving, and ancestral reverence.

“The Kilajolu Festival is our way of honoring our ancestors and celebrating the values that bind us as a people,” said the monarch. “It is a time of renewal, joy, and togetherness.”

The Kilajolu Festival, rooted in deep Yoruba tradition, is more than just a celebration—it is a reaffirmation of identity.

It provides an opportunity for cultural expression, unity, and the continued preservation of Odomola’s cherished heritage.

Otunba Alebiosu Ademola, a key supporter and cultural ambassador, echoed this sentiment:

“This festival is more than tradition—it is about reconnecting with our roots and showcasing the beauty of Odomola to the world. We’re proud to be part of this legacy.”Odomola Kilajolu Festival 2025: A Grand Celebration of Heritage, Unity, Culture

In recent weeks, other communities in the Epe region, including Poka, Odo-Egiri, and Iraye-Oke, have successfully held their own festivals, reflecting a growing momentum toward cultural pride and preservation across the area.

“When each community upholds its traditions, we strengthen our collective identity as the Epe people,” Ademola added. “Festivals like Kilajolu remind us of our shared values.”

With preparations in full swing, the 2025 Kilajolu Festival is expected to attract traditional rulers, dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and guests from far and wide, all eager to witness the beauty of Odomola’s rich traditions.
