The programme was coordinated by the Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Department (WAPA), led by Mrs. Ekundayo Abiola Titi.
Themed “Promoting Emotional Wellness and Breaking the Silence,” the event created a safe space for women to speak openly about mental health challenges.
Participants shared personal experiences relating to pressures from family life, workplace demands, and societal expectations.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Wewe John, a Medical Officer who addressed issues surrounding depression and emotional stress.

He simplified complex mental health concepts into relatable discussions for attendees.
Dr. John encouraged women to seek professional help whenever they feel overwhelmed.
He stressed that speaking up about emotional struggles should not be viewed as weakness.

Organisers explained that the programme aimed to dismantle stigma associated with mental health discussions.
The council emphasised the need for continued awareness at the grassroots level.
Officials noted that emotionally healthy women contribute to stronger families and stable communities.
