In a bid to enhance the experience of both residents and tourists, the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has formed a strategic partnership with the creator of MyLagosApp, a digital platform designed to integrate tourism, hospitality, transportation and entertainment across the state.
EpeInsights reports that the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, expressed strong support for the app during a meeting held recently with the convener of MyLagosApp, Ifeoma Chukwu, at his office in Alausa.
Aregbe praised MyLagosApp as a vital tool in positioning Lagos as a premier tourism and entertainment hub in Africa. “To showcase Lagos properly and elevate its status, we need effective collaboration. A tech-driven approach like MyLagosApp aligns perfectly with our vision,” he said.
With the festive season, especially the popular Detty December period, on the horizon, Aregbe stressed the need for early stakeholder engagement. He also announced plans to host a two-day event to unveil the state’s roadmap for the upcoming season. “Planning for Detty December begins in October and November. Early coordination is essential for success,” he explained.
The Special Adviser urged event organizers, promoters, and stakeholders involved in Detty December activities to register with the Ministry.
This registration will help streamline event scheduling, ensure safety compliance, and provide access to government support and promotion.
“This isn’t just about visibility; it’s about taking responsibility,” Aregbe emphasized.
“By registering with the Ministry, organizers will be part of a unified event calendar, preventing clashes and enhancing security while promoting the Lagos brand effectively.”
On her part, the convener of MyLagosApp, Ifeoma Chukwu, highlighted the app’s role as a centralized hub for real-time updates on events, traffic, accommodations, nightlife, and government-endorsed activities.
“Our goal is to partner with the Ministry to showcase Lagos in all its vibrancy and provide residents and tourists with a seamless, well-informed experience,” she said.
Chukwu also discussed the upcoming official launch of MyLagosApp and expressed her desire for the Ministry’s endorsement to enhance the app’s credibility and expand its reach.
