The Lagos State Government has released a traffic advisory to guide motorists and ensure smooth vehicular flow ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries.

EpeInsights reports that exercise is scheduled to take place at the party’s State Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, ACME Road will be completely closed to traffic for the duration of the primaries.

The closure will affect access points from Adeniyi Jones, Lateef Jakande and ACME Crescent.

To reduce congestion, the government has provided alternative routes for motorists:

  • From Adeniyi Jones: Use Aromire Street to access Allen Junction and continue your journey.
  • From Allen Avenue: Motorists should also take Aromire Street, then link Ladipo Oluwole to reach Guinness and other destinations.
  • From Akilo Road: Drivers can connect through Wemco Road, continue onto Lateef Jakande, or proceed via Omole.

The government urged members of the public to plan ahead and avoid the ACME Road area unless absolutely necessary.

Osiyemi assured that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will deploy personnel to monitor and manage traffic along affected routes.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier published the official list of chairmanship aspirants who have been cleared to participate in its upcoming primaries, ahead of the Lagos State Local Government Elections scheduled for July 12, 2025.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has set July 10, 2025, for elections into chairmanship positions and 376 councillorship seats across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).Lagos Issues Traffic Lockdown Alert Ahead of APC Primaries This Saturday
