Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving road infrastructure as part of its drive to support sustainable development and enhance the quality of life for residents across the council area.
Epe Insights reports that the local government, under the leadership of Executive Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, hosted representatives of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) for an inspection of critical roads identified for possible intervention by the Lagos State Government.
The inspection exercise forms part of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with relevant state agencies in addressing infrastructure challenges affecting rapidly growing communities.
Officials visited major roads in Idado, Akodo, Taro Kayetoro, Adeba, and Abijo GRA, where they assessed the condition of the road networks and identified sections requiring urgent attention.
The inspection provided technical officials with the opportunity to evaluate existing road conditions and recommend appropriate rehabilitation measures that will improve accessibility and mobility.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa reiterated that road infrastructure remains one of the key priorities of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government administration.
He explained that improving roads is essential to supporting the area’s rapid urban growth, expanding commercial activities, and increasing population.
According to the chairman, better road networks will enhance connectivity between communities, improve access to schools and healthcare facilities, and make transportation safer and more efficient.

Officials of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation carefully inspected the identified roads, examining damaged sections and evaluating areas requiring engineering intervention.
The technical assessment is expected to guide future rehabilitation works aimed at improving the durability and functionality of the affected roads.
