Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has concluded the two-day SME Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development Workshop, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Addressing participants at the closing session, Hon. Olowa described entrepreneurship as a critical driver of economic prosperity, job creation and wealth generation in every community.
He said the workshop aligns with the Local Economic Development pillar of the SHIEELD Agenda, which places strong emphasis on supporting local businesses through knowledge, innovation and strategic partnerships.
According to the chairman, meaningful economic development can only be achieved when entrepreneurs are equipped with the skills and resources needed to build successful and resilient enterprises.
Hon. Olowa commended Pan-Atlantic University for its unwavering commitment to community development, describing the institution as a valuable partner in promoting entrepreneurship and human capital development.
He appreciated the university’s continued support in delivering practical training programmes that empower residents with relevant business knowledge and modern entrepreneurial skills.

The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s determination to expand partnerships that create opportunities for local businesses, improve livelihoods and stimulate inclusive economic growth.
Participants received hands-on training designed to strengthen their understanding of bookkeeping, financial planning, digital business tools and customer relationship management.
The workshop also introduced participants to effective marketing strategies that can help small businesses increase visibility, attract more customers and remain competitive in the digital economy.
Beyond the technical sessions, participants engaged in interactive networking activities that encouraged collaboration, mentorship and the exchange of practical business experiences.

Speaking after the programme, one of the participants, Mr. Albert, described the workshop as an enriching and eye-opening experience.
