Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday joined notable dignitaries at the first session of the 36th Synod of the Diocese of Lagos, held at Our Saviour Church, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.
EpeInsights reports that the event brought together key figures from the Anglican Communion, the Lagos State government and the Church community.
Governor Sanwo-Olu was presented with a commemorative plate by Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo, the wife of the former Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev’d. Ephraim Ademowo.
The presentation was made in the presence of the Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev’d. Ifedola Okupevi, and other prominent church and government officials.
The ceremony was a significant gathering for the Anglican community in Lagos, where the Synod serves as an essential platform for discussions on the Church’s mission and future directions.
Among the dignitaries present were the Chancellor of the Diocese of Lagos, Hon. Justice Adedayo Oyebanji, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and former Bishop of Lagos, Rt. Rev’d. Ephraim Ademowo, alongside his wife, Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo.
In a series of photos from the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu was seen alongside Bishop Okupevi and his wife, Mrs. Modupe Okupevi, as well as other influential figures such as Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, and Hon. Oladele Ajayi, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The event at Our Saviour Church highlighted the strong collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the Diocese of Lagos in fostering unity, progress, and spiritual growth in the region.
