Father Beats Daughter To Death in Lagos, Buries Her in Shallow Grave

A father has beaten his daughter to death in Lagos.

Epe Insights reports that a man identified as Kamoru Ojo is currently in police custody for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat, to death at their home in the Ojo area of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city.

It was gathered that an altercation between Ojo and his 27-year-old Shakirat escalated on Thursday, April 3, 2025, leading to him physically assaulting her.

Reports have it that Shakirat reportedly lost consciousness during the beating and died.

Ojo allegedly dug a shallow grave within their compound and buried his daughter’s body in an attempt to cover up the crime.

Unable to determine Shakirat’s whereabouts, a missing person report was filed with the Okokomaiko Division of the Lagos State Police Command, homicide and crime scene detectives were dispatched, and they discovered the victim’s remains buried on the property.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Ojo’s arrest and stated that the body has been exhumed and taken to a public morgue for an autopsy.

The Lagos Police Command spokesman further stated that the investigation is ongoing.
