In a heartfelt show of commitment to community welfare, the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has unveiled a new initiative aimed at improving the lives of the elderly in the area.
EpeInsights reports that the programme, titled “Itoju Awon Agba” which translates to “Care for the Elderly” was launched to provide tailored support and essential resources for senior citizens, many of whom remain vulnerable and in need of community-driven interventions.
According to a statement from the Chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olawale Yusuff, the launch of “Itoju Awon Agba” is another milestone in Hon. Animashaun’s mission to drive inclusive development across Epe.
He noted that the initiative reflects her genuine concern for the well-being of all, especially the aged, who have contributed immensely to the growth of the community.
“This is more than a programme,” Yusuff said. “It’s a reaffirmation of the Chairman’s commitment to the people—especially our elders who deserve care, dignity, and respect in their golden years.”
Under Hon. Animashaun’s leadership, Epe Local Government has recorded major strides in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Her administration has delivered projects such as the construction of doctors’ quarters, free health and dental screenings, and the distribution of first aid kits to public schools.
“Itoju Awon Agba” now joins the growing list of impactful social welfare programmes under her watch, reinforcing her pledge to prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable.
The statement further urged Epe residents to support and stand with the Chairman, describing her as a visionary leader with a proven track record of delivery and a deep understanding of the community’s needs.
