As Muslims around the world marked the Eid-ul-Adha festival, Lagos State joined in a meaningful celebration that went beyond tradition and festivity.

EpeInsights reports that at a special event hosted by the Lagos State First Family and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, delivered a stirring message on the importance of family and national unity.

Speaking under the theme “My Lord, Make This Land Secure,” Dr. Hamzat urged families across the state to be pillars of peace and uphold their roles as protectors of the nation’s core values.

He emphasized the critical need to guide and nurture children, describing them as not just the future but also ambassadors of Lagos State.

“Our children are watching. Let’s guide them well, because they are the future. They will carry forward the values we instill in them today.”

In her welcome address, the Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, reflected on the deeper meaning of the celebration.

She reminded attendees that Eid-ul-Adha is not only about sacrifice but about surrendering to the will of the Creator and committing to the service of community and humanity.
