The Odo-Ayandelu Central Mosque was a centre of reverence and celebration on Friday, May 30, 2025, as the Muslim community held a special Jumat service in honour of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Builder) Abdul-Ganiyu Asunmo Aderibigbe, to commemorate his 15th year on the throne.
EpeInsights reports that the anniversary prayer session drew dignitaries from across the Epe Division and beyond as it also marked a significant milestone in the monarch’s reign.
Islamic scholars and clerics led the congregation in Quranic recitations, prayers for sustained peace and blessings for continued unity and prosperity within the kingdom.
The solemn occasion witnessed the presence of prominent traditional rulers and chieftains, including HRM Oba Buari Ola Balogun, the Onirokun of Ogun State; HRM Oba Nureni Alugbin, the Oniladaba of Oniladaba Kingdom; and High Chief Musiliudeen Kadri Odedeogboro, who represented the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom.
In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom, Alhaji Musliudeen Osho Adetona, praised the monarch’s leadership, noting that Oba Aderibigbe has provided stability, unity, and development throughout his 15-year reign.
“We are gathered today in gratitude to Almighty Allah for blessing us with a visionary and peaceful monarch,” said Alhaji Adetona.
“May he continue to reign in good health, and may our community flourish under his continued leadership.”
After the Jumat service, a special prayer session was conducted by the Grand Chief Imam, invoking divine protection and longevity for the monarch and other traditional rulers in attendance.
Oba Aderibigbe expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Muslim community for their steadfast support and spiritual guidance throughout his reign.
“I am truly grateful to Almighty Allah and to all of you for the unwavering loyalty and prayers that have accompanied my journey so far. As we celebrate this significant chapter, I pray that our unity and blessings shall endure,” the monarch said.
The Jumat prayer was one of several events scheduled to commemorate the monarch’s 15th coronation anniversary, with other cultural and community-focused activities expected to follow throughout the week.
