The ancient town of Odo-Egiri came alive over the weekend as the 2025 edition of the Ojude Oba festival unfolded in a spectacular showcase of colours, fashion, glamour, glitz and cultural steeze.

EpeInsights reports that the festival, held annually to honour the traditional ruler and celebrate the rich Yoruba heritage, drew hundreds of indigenes and guests dressed in exquisite traditional attires, beaming with pride and excitement.

From elaborately beaded headgears to flowing agbadas and intricately designed ankara prints, Ojude Oba Odo-Egiri 2025 was a visual feast, blending ancient customs with modern flair.

Cultural troupes and age-grade groups (known as regberegbe) thrilled the crowd with vibrant displays, dances, and chants, reaffirming their allegiance to the Oba and their ancestral roots.

The festival grounds sparkled as sons and daughters of the town, both home and abroad, gathered to pay homage to their monarch in a grand procession filled with drumming, horse-riding and heartfelt tributes.

More than just fashion and festivities, the event also served as a platform for unity, community development, and cultural preservation. Elders and youths alike used the occasion to reconnect, celebrate shared values and discuss progressive ideas for Odo-Egiri’s future.
