As Christians across the world celebrate Easter, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm greetings to all Lagosians and Nigerians, calling for deeper love, unity, and compassion in line with the values exemplified by Jesus Christ.
EpeInsights reports that the Governor extended the greetings through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile.
Governor Sanwo-Olu encouraged citizens to reflect on the true meaning of Easter—the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—and how it represents hope, sacrifice, and renewal.
“As we commemorate the sacrifice and love of Jesus towards mankind, I urge all Lagosians and Nigerians to make unity and togetherness the core of our national identity,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He urged Christian faithful to embrace and live out the virtues of humility, perseverance, selflessness, and love—key teachings of Christ.
The Governor also emphasized peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths, highlighting the importance of good neighbourliness and harmony in building a stronger, more inclusive society.
Beyond celebration, the Governor called on residents to actively contribute to the progress of their communities.

“Let us impact the lives of those around us, our friends, colleagues, neighbours, and loved ones—as we work together for the continued growth and development of Lagos and Nigeria,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu’s Easter message serves as a reminder of the role every individual plays in shaping a more united and compassionate nation.
