The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Anomo, successfully commissioned and handed over the newly constructed Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Headquarters in Odo-Ayandelu, marking a major milestone in the council’s efforts to strengthen security infrastructure.
Epe Insights reports that the commissioning ceremony attracted government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, political leaders and community stakeholders, who gathered to witness the formal inauguration of the modern security facility.
Before the official commissioning, Chairman Anomo carried out a final inspection of the divisional headquarters to confirm that the project met the required operational standards for immediate use.
Speaking at the event, the council chairman expressed satisfaction with the quality of the completed facility and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving security through strategic investments in critical infrastructure.
He described the completion and handover of the NSCDC Divisional Headquarters as another landmark achievement of his administration, noting that security remains a key pillar of sustainable development in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The facility was fully equipped with modern office furniture, electrical installations, a power generating set and other essential amenities to enable officers begin operations immediately.
A patrol vehicle was also officially presented to the NSCDC to enhance mobility and improve emergency response across Odo-Ayandelu and neighbouring communities.
The newly provided patrol vehicle complements the operational motorcycle earlier donated by the Anomo administration, further strengthening the logistics support available to security personnel.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the commendation by the Lagos State Command of the NSCDC.
The Special Guest of Honour and Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Adedotun Keshinro, described the newly completed facility as the finest divisional headquarters currently under the Lagos State Command.
The commendation drew applause from guests and underscored the quality of the infrastructure delivered by the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA administration.
Responding to the recognition, Akogun Wale Anomo expressed appreciation for the commendation, stating that it would inspire his administration to continue delivering impactful projects that improve the lives of residents.
He reaffirmed that investment in security infrastructure remains essential to maintaining peace, protecting public assets and creating an environment where businesses and communities can thrive.
During the commissioning, the Executive Chairman announced plans to construct an Officers’ Quarters for the NSCDC division.
According to him, the proposed residential facility will improve the welfare of officers while enhancing their operational efficiency and readiness.
Anomo also disclosed that the reconstruction of the Ejinrin Police Post had reached an advanced stage and would soon be completed and commissioned.
He further announced plans to construct an Officers’ Quarters at the Agbowa Police Station as part of his administration’s broader commitment to supporting security agencies across the council area.
The chairman noted that providing modern infrastructure and adequate logistics remains one of the most effective ways to strengthen security operations and improve public safety.
He assured residents that his administration would continue to partner with security agencies to maintain peace and protect lives and property throughout Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
Akogun Wale Anomo expressed heartfelt appreciation to all individuals and institutions that contributed to the successful completion of the project.
He specially thanked HRM Oba (Builder) Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe (FNIOB), the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, for his unwavering support from the conception of the project to its successful completion.
The chairman also appreciated the Lagos State Command of the NSCDC, traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and residents for their cooperation and encouragement throughout the execution of the project.
He described their collective support as instrumental to the successful delivery of the divisional headquarters.
Stakeholders at the event commended the council chairman for prioritising security and investing in infrastructure that will strengthen law enforcement and public safety across the LCDA.
The commissioning of the NSCDC Divisional Headquarters is expected to improve security coordination, emergency response and crime prevention within Odo-Ayandelu and the wider Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
