The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has inspected ongoing projects and development interventions across Awoyaya, with attention on roads, drainage, education and environmental management.
Epe Insights reports that Olowa began the inspection at the Container Awoyaya corridor, where he assessed the ongoing construction of a culvert along the reconstructed section of Hon. Idowu Eletu Street.
The culvert is expected to strengthen the road infrastructure and improve drainage within the area.
The Chairman also inspected the primary canal linking the Container Awoyaya axis with Olowu and Iraboko communities.
The drainage intervention was facilitated by the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, as part of efforts to complement the culvert project and improve water movement in the area.
Olowa appreciated Wahab for the intervention and continued cooperation with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government in addressing infrastructure challenges.
He noted that collaboration between different levels of government remains important in tackling development needs across communities.
The Chairman also visited the Awoyaya Next Generation Smart School, where he inspected the ongoing foundation works.
The school project is part of efforts to provide modern educational infrastructure and create improved learning environments for children in the community.

At the Elesekan PBAT Market, the Chairman assessed the environmental condition of the trading area.
Following the inspection, he directed the Local Government to support the immediate evacuation of accumulated refuse from the market.

The directive is aimed at supporting a cleaner and healthier environment for traders, customers and other users of the market.
