The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Anomo, has reaffirmed that security remains the cornerstone of his administration with the official commissioning and handover of the newly constructed and fully equipped Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Headquarters in Odo-Ayandelu to the Lagos State Command of the Corps.

Addressing guests, Akogun Wale Anomo declared that security is not merely the responsibility of government but the foundation upon which every meaningful development is built.
According to the council chairman, communities can only attract investment, create jobs and improve the quality of life when lives and property are adequately protected.
He explained that his administration deliberately placed security at the centre of its development agenda, recognising that peace and stability are essential for economic growth and social progress.
Anomo noted that the decision to construct the modern NSCDC Divisional Headquarters was driven by the need to provide security personnel with world-class facilities capable of supporting efficient and professional service delivery.
He stressed that the project goes beyond the construction of a building, describing it as a strategic investment in the safety, confidence and future of the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The Executive Chairman stated that his administration is determined to provide security agencies with the operational support required to effectively combat crime and respond promptly to emergencies.
To achieve this objective, the council delivered a fully equipped operational headquarters designed to meet modern security standards.
The facility comprises spacious and fully furnished administrative offices to ensure a conducive working environment for officers of the Corps.
It also features a modern quarter-guard section that strengthens internal operational coordination and enhances the security architecture of the division.
The headquarters includes functional lock-up cells built to support lawful detention and facilitate effective law enforcement operations.
An armoury was equally incorporated into the facility to provide secure storage for operational equipment in line with established security protocols.
Beyond the physical infrastructure, Akogun Wale Anomo ensured that the division received the logistics required to begin operations immediately.
As part of the handover, the council presented a patrol bus to improve the mobility and rapid response capacity of NSCDC personnel across the council area.
The administration also donated an operational motorcycle to complement patrol activities, particularly in riverine and difficult-to-access communities.
Additional operational equipment and logistics were provided to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of officers serving within the division.
Anomo explained that investing in both infrastructure and logistics reflects his administration’s practical approach to strengthening security institutions rather than making symbolic interventions.
He noted that security agencies perform better when they are adequately equipped with modern facilities, reliable mobility and functional operational tools.
The council chairman reaffirmed that supporting the NSCDC is part of a broader strategy to strengthen collaboration among all security agencies operating within Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
He added that the improved operational capacity of the Corps will enhance crime prevention, emergency response, protection of critical infrastructure and community policing efforts.
Anomo maintained that his administration will continue to initiate projects that directly improve public safety while creating a peaceful environment for businesses and residents.
He assured the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin that security would remain one of the highest priorities of his administration throughout his tenure.
According to him, government must continually invest in institutions that guarantee peace because sustainable development cannot thrive without adequate security.
