The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has reaffirmed the importance of voter education by participating in the Epe Division Baales’ Permanent Voter Card (PVC) Registration Awareness Campaign.
Epe Insights reports that the grassroots mobilisation programme brought together traditional rulers, Baales, political leaders, council chairmen, and community stakeholders to encourage eligible residents across Epe Division to register for their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the 2027 general elections.
The awareness campaign was organised to deepen civic participation and strengthen voter education at the grassroots through the active involvement of traditional institutions.
The event attracted prominent royal fathers from across Epe Division, including the Onilekki of Lekki, the Onibeju of Ibeju, and several other traditional rulers who reaffirmed their commitment to promoting responsible citizenship.
Their participation highlighted the significant role of traditional institutions in mobilising communities and encouraging active participation in the democratic process.
Speaking during the programme, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali commended the Lagos State Baales Forum for initiating the awareness campaign.

He described the programme as a timely and strategic effort to increase civic awareness while encouraging more residents to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
According to the Lekki LCDA chairman, democracy can only thrive when citizens actively participate in the electoral process through voter registration and responsible civic engagement.
He urged all eligible residents who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise.
RBK stressed that meaningful and sustainable development depends largely on active citizen participation in choosing leaders through credible elections.
He also encouraged residents to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards and remain committed to peaceful democratic participation.
Addressing party members and stakeholders, the chairman called for unity, cooperation, and continued collaboration ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
He urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation while promoting peaceful political engagement across the division.

The campaign further demonstrated the growing partnership between traditional institutions and government in advancing civic education and democratic values.
Participants described the initiative as an important platform for increasing voter awareness and encouraging greater public involvement in governance.
Community leaders commended the Lagos State Baales Forum for leveraging the influence of traditional institutions to educate residents on their civic responsibilities.
They noted that the involvement of royal fathers and Baales would enhance public confidence in the campaign and improve grassroots participation.
