Traditional leaders under the Baales in Council across Eredo LCDA have unanimously endorsed Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, popularly known as “Sketel,” for another term as the representative of Epe Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Epe Insights reports that the endorsement was announced during a gathering of traditional community leaders within Eredo LCDA, where the Baales openly declared their support for Hon. Ogunkelu ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The traditional rulers dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the council had endorsed another candidate. They described the reports as false, misleading, and capable of causing confusion among residents and political supporters.
According to the Baales, individuals featured in some viral videos making rounds online are not recognised members of the Eredo LCDA Baales in Council. They reaffirmed that their collective support remains with Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu.
The council stated that the lawmaker’s achievements, accessibility, and commitment to grassroots development influenced their decision to support his bid for a third term in office.
The Baales also highlighted several developmental projects and community-focused initiatives facilitated by the lawmaker across Epe Constituency II. They described his representation at the Lagos State House of Assembly as impactful and beneficial to the people.
Epe Insights gathered that the traditional leaders stressed the importance of continuity in leadership, noting that Hon. Ogunkelu has demonstrated competence, experience, and dedication toward the growth of the constituency.
They further maintained that sustaining his representation would allow ongoing projects and developmental efforts within the constituency to continue without interruption.
Political stakeholders and supporters present at the gathering described the endorsement as a strong indication of the confidence traditional leaders and grassroots communities have in the lawmaker’s leadership.
